Piggy Birthday

Hello, friends! It's the last day of July and let's close the month with a squeal! I've been holding back on these cards until after the birthdays of two equally adorable people. They are pretty much the same design with a a few little variations. Both cards feature MFT's super cute Hog Heaven stamps.

Card #1: I used LF's Spring Showers and Simple Stitched Hillside Borders dies to cut out the sun, clouds and hill to set the scene. For a bit of colour, I inked the panel with Tumbled Glass DI and mounted it on a pink card base.

I coloured the images with Copics and added Glossy Accents to the cupcakes.

Card #2 is for a little girl named Charlie (no relation to my little boy - see below) and I made a banner of her name with the help of the Mini Bunting and Banner dies by Clearly Besotted and LF's Riley's ABC, held together by LF's Orchid Lawn Trimming.

Here is the little piggy with 4 cupcakes... yes, because Charlie just turned 4! I gave the little piggy a little birthday glitter with the Clear Wink Of Stella.
Challenges:
AAA Cards #70: Stitching (Faux or Real)
Allsorts #374: A Touch Of Sparkle
Just Us Girls #353: Let's Hear It For The Girls
Seize The Birthday: Pink & Brown / AG Birthday
Amusing Challenge: AG

That's all from me today. I hope July treated you well and let's hope August brings lots more wonderful crafty goodness... and rain, please. It's waaaay too hot.

Thank you for stopping and enjoy the rest of your Sunday. See you soon!

Hello again, friends! Time for another challenge over at Addicted To Stamps and More. This week we are playing Clean and Simple and our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate.

The focal image is the Winter Bunny by Lawn Fawn, coloured with Copics and cut out with its coordinating die. I adhered him to the card with foam tape and applied lots of Clear Wink of Stella to his scarf.

Floral Outburst!

Hello friends! Over the weekend, I forced myself to get crafty.  As a result, today's post one of many photos. Are you ready for my floral outburst?

First up is a tag. This one is for the Tag You're It #52 challenge. The featured designer is Any Tsutura and she made a beautiful tag with lots of white space. And that is a real challenge for me! I tried my best to stay true to Amy's design with the little vase, pink flowers and gold reinforcer ring. The stamps are by Clearly Besotted: A Little Something and Scribbled Flowers. I water-coloured the images with Distress Inks and fussy cut them.

I popped a couple of the flowers with foam tape.

Next up are three cards featuring stamps from Peony Bouquet by Altenew.

#1 - Wedding card for a young couple. Extras: gold heat embossed greeting and bling.

I popped up one yellow flower.
Challenge:
Altenew July Inspiration Challenge: Weddings

Inspired by the photo,  I found my self making a couple more based on the same design.

#2 - Birthday Card. This one is for a special lady who will be celebrating her 80th birthday soon.  Extras: sequins and pearls.
ChallengeSeize The Birthday: Bold & Bright

#3 - Thinking of You card for a friend who needs a pick me up and still be able to drive home! :) Extras: sequins.
Challenge - Cardz 4 Gals #27: No Patterned Paper

That's all from me today. It is crazy hot here! Please tell me you're longing for the cool breeze of autumn too.

Thanks for stopping by today.... and stay cool :)

Forever Friends

Hello there. I have 2 cards to show you today - both celebrating friendship.

First up is a card I made in memory of my dear André.  A year ago today he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. This is how I imagine him to be: living it up with a daily sprinkling of fairy dust... happy, healthy and waiting for me. I used Critters At The Dog Park and Fairy Friends together with the coordinating dies for the main images. I cut out the clouds with dies from Spring Showers and added colour with Tumbled Glass and Perfect Pearls.

I used Distress Inks to water colour the rainbow background and the images. The sentiment is from Critters At The Dog Park, stamped with Archival Red Carnation and curved along the rainbow. I used the Grassy Border die and finished the card witha few tiny clear bling.
Challenges:
Lawnscaping #134: Rainbow
One Stitch At A Time #267:AG + Dies
Sunday Stamps #131: It's All About Colour

On to card #2... an attempt at CAS card with MFT's Wednesday Sketch.  I've used MFT Snuggle Bunnies.

I stamped the images with VersaFine Vintage Sepia and used Distress Inks to watercolour them.
Challenges:
MFT Wednesday Sketch #290
Alphabet Challenge: K is for Kindness
Craft Rocket #20: Spots and/or Stripes

I'll leave you with this picture of André doing what he does best - sitting in the garden looking handsome. A year has gone by so fast. I still remember the day he arrived on St Andrew's Day 2001. A ball of fur. We miss him so very much.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and have a beautiful Sunday, friends!

Here's my card inspired by the colours only.... a sympathy card. Not my favourite type of card but these things happen. I'm using image and sentiment from Beginning & Endings. No patterned papers, cardstock, dark grey sheer ribbon and some liquid pearls.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #25: Chocolate

Welcome to another month of Chocolate Baroque inspired fun -  Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #25. This is very special challenge because it is the Second Anniversary of the Challenge.

And to make our Birthday Bash extra special, we will not be having our usual colour swatch. Instead, we are going with a theme that is close to our hearts:

CHOCOLATE

That's right, folks! It is going to be a month-long feast of CHOCOLATE. Your projects can be in any format, cards, tags, mixed media, scrapbook pages, whatever you like, as long as there is a chocolate somewhere in your project: white chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate.... let your imagination run wild as long as you incorporate the chocolate theme in your projects. You don't have to limit yourself to brown. Think about chocolate flavours like mint, strawberry or orange, but always tie it back to a bit of chocolate to your design.

As always, you can use any medium to create your projects: paints, inks, pencils, pens, stains, etc., as long as you stick to the colours from the colour swatch, using as much or as little of each colour as you wish.  You don't have to use Chocolate Baroque stamps to play along but if you do you will be entered into a random draw to win £25 to spend on Chocolate Baroque stamps. All participants will have a chance to be on the Design Team's Top Three list and proudly display winner's badge on their blog.

It's easy to see the chocolate connection on my card. I'm using the rich warm, unctuous colours of the stuff that makes me happy. Ok... the little critters are rather cute too. I've stamped the owl from Owl Edges A5 sheet onto kraft CS with VersaFine Vintage Sepia. The sentiment is from Words Of Wisdom, heat embossed with WOW White EP. For the grassy bits in the background I used a stamp from the Teeny Weeny Meadow A6 Mini Multi-buy set.

I coloured the owls with Faber Castell Polychromos.
Challenges:
Creative Moments #98: AG, No Twist
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday: Things With Wings
Crafty Addicts #20: AG / Friends

Challenge #25 will close at 12.00 p.m. (UK) on Tuesday 16th August 2016, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday 24th August 2016. I hope you'll play along and run the risk of winning £25 to spend on Chocolate Baroque stamps.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a sweet day!

Good morning, friends! Time for a new challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown. The theme this week is "Favourite Embellishment". Our sponsor for this challenge is Power Poppy.

My favourite embellishment ... or I should say embellishments are Twine and Liquid Pearls. And I used both on my card featuring Power Poppy's lovely image from Arranging Roses and a sentiment from Everything's Rosy.

I coloured the image with Faber Castell Polychromos. This digi was a joy to colour.

Grateful For You

Happy Friday, friends!  I've been working my (feeble) CAS mojo and made a thank you card to give a very special person who has been nothing short of amazing to me. The stamp sets in play are MFT Hog Heaven and MFT Grateful For You.

I coloured the little piggy and flowers from MFT Hog Heaven with Graph'It markers. To create some background interest, I randomly stamped the little flowers from this set with SSS Sea Glass ink. It's very light  and does not compete with the rest of the elements on the card. Then I inked the edges with Tumbled Glass. Using the word die included in the MFT Grateful For You I cut out "grateful" with blue glitter foam. The sentiment, also from MFT Grateful For You, has been heat embossed in white.

I adhered strips of patterned paper, cut it out with LF Stitched Rectangle dies and cut out a frame with another from the set. Then I mounted the frame on foam tape, as with the die-cut "grateful".

Challenges:
MFT Sketch Challenge #289
Cute Card Thursday #434: Embossing
Addicted To CAS #92: Stripes

Hope you have lovely weekend planned. I'll be helping a friend with her wedding preparations... there's so much left to do! Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Chocolate Baroque: Fair Lady of Summer

Good morning, friend!. I'm back with a project featuring one of the new seasonal single cling stamps by Chocolate Baroque. Thee are 4 stamps in this collection - each depicting a lady of the season: Spring Awakening, Summer Fair, Autumn Medley and Winter Dawn.

Today I want to show you a card showcasing Summer Fair. The little flowers around her is a stamp from an older set called Seasonal Fragments.

I stamped the image onto Canson heavyweight cold press watercolour paper with VersaFine Onyx Black. Next I wet the paper and applied red and green water colour around the image, let dry completely before colouring the lady.  To add interest to the background, I stamped the little flowers from Seasonal Fragments with VersaFine Satin Red ink.  And to break up the flat background ever so slightly, I added little drops of Daffodil Liquid Pearls. Finally I mounted the finished piece on a 6 "x 4½" top folding card.

I used Winsor and Newton watercolours, not fussing too much about light and shade and all that technical stuff. Just laid on the colour, in layers ... and I'm pretty pleased with the outcome.
Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday: Flora and / or Fauna (flora)
Come and Get It: Make Your Own Background
OneStitch At A Time #266: AG With Elements of Nature
30 Day Colouring Challenge

I hope you'll feel inspired to do some watercolouring too. The summer is here in full swing: its hasn't rained for weeks, city hall is issuing  guideline about prudence when watering the gardens.... and those fiendish fruit-bats are still devouring my figs ..... aaaaargh!

Thank you so much for stopping by. You can find more projects by my team-mates over at the Chocolate Baroque Design Team Blog.
